Whenever I travel to a new city, there is one thing I always look for, wherever I’m in the world, it’s a beautiful museum.
– Not any museum though, it needs to have a few thing to be on my list:
– Be in a beautiful natural environment, for example by the sea or in the middle of a private garden
– Have a nice cafe where I can journal
– Have a great Contemporary Art Collection
– Have an interesting architecture
I’ve spent a lot of time in spaces like this throughout the world and these are some of my favorites…
I’ll usually take my sketchbook and some snacks and spend an afternoon or even a whole day if it’s far. I love to be surrounded by art in a beautiful setting, it feels like a little cocoon, where time stands still, and there is nothing else to do than enjoy it and take is slow. I draw, I write, I dream, and then when it’s time to go home, I feel energized and inspired.
